Universal Fabrications worked with a spin-out company from Oxford University to prototype a precision machined aluminium enclosure that has been used to spot variants in the genetic makeup of humans, animals and plants. The device has been put to good use to track Covid 19 variants globally in addition to wider respiratory infections and the fight to address drug resistant strains of tuberculosis.
